Day 5 Pedaling Each Day
My hair started falling out last night so in the morning I asked Taylor if she wanted to cut it after school. Of course she was super excited at this offer! Garrett took a last photo of my current style…….
Taylor pretended to be Maria of Maria’s Hair Salon. She talked about when her days off were, and what days the other girls worked at the shop. She worked with a comb and her art scissors. She has had practice over the years trimming fur off of her stuffed animals so I trusted her completely, and she did a fabulous job!
Another late night ride, this time with a skull cap!

Adorable! I love the way you have included the whole family in your transformation. This will be a time you will all remember and look back on as a bonding and deepening experience. Cheers to your health and happiness!
Nicole, you can rock any hair style. Your beauty glows through every inch of your being. Keep smiling and keep riding…I think you have the secret to living life well through all kinds of weather. Big hugs to you and the fam.!
Another stroke of brilliance !
- that would be most young girls’ fantasy come true (my daughter anyway)
You look radiant !
Keep shining !
I used to want to be a hairdresser and/or Secretary General of the UN at her age. Great hair cut. Your courage, family sharing and offerings are a tremendous gift to us all. You are in so many circles of prayers as well as generating your own huge energetic flow of family, wonder, love, kindness and care. Kicking and dancing and writing and riding and sharing your cancer journey. Blessings!!!!
Right on, mama! That is super cool !!!
you turned something that could have been a sad experience (having to cut your hair short because of hair loss )into a really fun (at least for your daughter !) memorable ,experience . And you got good photos!
love the Alchemy that you are practicing …
Love to you and your family, and thank you for sharing, Chloe
What a beauty you are – with any hair style and in all sorts of weather!
You know the secret to making lemonade out of lemons. How fun for Taylor to cut he mommy’s hair. And hooray that Garrett go the bike ready for a night ride – that had to have helped your sleep. We have snagged th ephors for our albums. Lots of love from the Boston Nadas
You look rad nicole. We Love you. Chris and Tera
Ditto everything everyone else said! How fun for Taylor and you look great.
I’m super happy that Taylor got to be your stylist and you rock the new look! Keep taking good care of yourself…
xo ~Rhonda
I’m losing mine too….as we speak. I got it cut last week and it looks just like yours but now its really coming out….what a trip!! So nice to be able to share this experience with you….but if I had it my way…prolly not…
Look how grown-up and competent she looks with those scissors in hand!
Beeeautiful! Love the trim locks and the rides, mama!
Does Maria have any openings? I’d like to make an appointment.
Love the hair cut! Is it just me or are you actually becoming more vibrant and vital as this process goes on?! Great idea to have T cut it… brilliant, actually. Keep on keeping on, sister. You look fabulous! LOve and hugs.
My hairdresser came to the house and shaved off my hair when it started coming out in clumps pretty soon after the first treatment. We did it in the back yard and collected the hair and placed in the lavender plants for the birds to make a nest with it. Bitter sweet. Your daughters will have amazing memories about walking the journey with you instead of our parents generation to hide our cancer from our kids. You are in my daily prayers. Keep on biking or some type of exercise if that becomes too difficult later on.
I know how reluctant you were to embrace losing your hair- and maybe for all our sakes you are now embracing it! But this is temporary and I look forward to making you a hat or two! Love you lots.
Bless you Nicole. Great to see you the other day at Good Earth. The picture of Taylor cutting your hair is priceless.
Be well~
Love this!
Looking good, Nicole! Your daughter is amazing!
Absolutely priceless gift you gave to Taylor. What woman would let anyone less than an a professional cut her hair? Unless you are at a point of unattachment. For Taylor, that you asked and trusted her to cut your hair when she was only 6 will be a tremendous source of confidence. This girl will move mountains too – just like her mama.
hair, no hair, makes no difference {though your new look is 100% pixie-chic}.
that radiant smile of yours wraps itself around you like a wreath of curly locks.
THAT is your most important accessory ♥
Good job, Taylor!! You look great, Nicole.
